Starting a Business

Welcome to this booklet, a guide which may help as you try to decide what to do, to seek employment or to start your own business!

Written for everyone in doubt about their direction in life, school, and college leavers, together with all job seekers.  There are many, in midlife, who may be considering another way for them.  Capable and experienced, they are minded to try out a concept that won’t go away but lacking in confidence.  This guide may help.

Most of what you have learned up to now has been preparing you for this stage.  You have matured and are gaining experience which will have introduced you to a range of possible interests for you to consider.

You are on the cusp of a new chapter of your life.  The questions you are facing are serious and I understand the concern you may be experiencing.

The good news for you is you are entering the job market with many vacancies.  You also have the support of well-informed and enthusiastic local and Government agencies happy to help you.  The exciting life in front of you may offer you opportunities you hadn’t expected.  If you can grasp these with optimism and a positive attitude, you can build a successful, enjoyable future.

I have kept this guide short, but I hope you will find its comparison of different options useful.

In my experience the wide world is full of opportunities you hadn’t expected, with room for all our talents.  Any decisions you make now will start you on your way, but life is full of twists and turns.  That is why I refer to as an adventure and why I urge you to prepare yourself.
